Successfull Performances For The Festivle of Trees

About a month ago I was asked to volunteer at The Festival of Trees in the Mayo Civic Center. They wanted me to perform magic for the children and their families in the carnival area. In fact they placed me in front of the DJ so I could use the sound system which was somewhat unnecessary because my audience wasn't more than a couple of feet away but was fun because the sudden noise scared them all a bit.
At first I thought all three performances were going to be failures because it would be about two minutes until show time and no one had come to sit down. But the audience did their own magic trick, about thirty seconds before I was supposed to start a crowd seemed to appear sitting in front of my performance area. Also, I was only asked to perform for about twenty minutes at a time but by the end of my performance the audience had tripled!
Overall all three performances went well. I decided to pull out some classic effects I haven't performed in years like the linking rings. I was tempted to pull an Amazing Johnathan during that trick. "And now the mystery of the Chinese linking rings, as you can see they're already linked, that saves us a lot of time." -The Amazing Johnathan
